About Jimmy's

Mission Statement

From 7pm to 9.30 am, we welcome anyone who would otherwise be forced to sleep rough either on the streets of Cambridge, or in a car park, or in a squat, or under a bridge - - - -

“I would have been pushing up the
daisies if it hadn't been for Jimmy's.”

Welcome Message from Jane Mann our Chair

I wonder why you are looking at this website?
Is it because you are just surfing the net?
Is it because you have an interest in those who would, without Jimmy's, be sleeping rough?
Is it because you have food, clothing or bedding in good condition to offer to Jimmy's?
Is it because you want to help us as a volunteer?
I wonder why you are here?

Actually, it doesn’t matter why you are here – the important thing is that you have arrived!

Do you care about the homeless? – We do! – That is why we are here.

Jimmy's was opened in 1995 to provide a bed, hot food, clothing (if needed), care, a listening ear and help with the endless form filling for those who had no home for whatever reason.

We didn’t stop there; Jimmy's now provides tenancy support for those people who need it and are living in their own accommodation, to make sure that they can remain independent.

Why don’t you look at the rest of the site, now that you are here, and learn more about Jimmy's and the ways in which you can help.
